Behind the scenes.
The idea
Normally, we strictly follow our initial ideas and the drawings we make. But this picture was a lucky exception. We hadn’t anticipated that water lilies would bloom as we planned this series. So, we drew some flower petals, both dark and bright. And then, Victor’s mom showed us her beautiful pond...
Making
Water offers us a great space for interesting experiments, often with unexpected results. No matter how much we try to pre-visualise the final outcome, there is always an element of unpredictability. A fortunate reflection captured in the water can fundamentally influence the final feel and look of the entire work. This is a very intriguing addition to our otherwise carefully planned, methodical workflow.
Materials.
Paper.
For paper-based prints, we use our favorite paper from the most renowned German manufacturer: Hanemühe Photo Rag. This robust paper features a pronounced texture while still reproducing even the finest details.
Frame.
We use only high-quality, German-made frames in a neutral wooden tone.
Aluminium.
Aluminium is our preferred material for its high-quality reproduction, attractive aesthetics, and practicality. Best of all, no frame is needed—everything for mounting is included, resulting in an elegant, minimalist solution.
