This final photograph of 2023 holds special significance to us as it marks the completion of mmiri’s first full year. It served as our heartfelt farewell to 2023. The delicate floral elements represent autumn’s departure, while the expansive white space symbolizes winter’s approaching presence. Soap bubbles mirror the ephemeral transformations inherent to seasonal cycles, their fragility echoing time’s fleeting passage.
Behind the scenes.
The idea
Both leaf and plant featured in this piece come from our parents' garden, where we've long admired the decorative maple's vibrant display. Its striking colors served as our primary inspiration for this work.
Making
In pursuit of authenticity, we always try to minimize post-production retouching by ensuring that the fastening of objects within the scene remains as inconspicuous as possible. This approach preserves a genuine, realistic quality within an otherwise abstract composition.
Materials.
Paper.
For paper-based prints, we use our favorite paper from the most renowned German manufacturer: Hanemühe Photo Rag. This robust paper features a pronounced texture while still reproducing even the finest details.
Frame.
We use only high-quality, German-made frames in a neutral wooden tone.
Aluminium.
Aluminium is our preferred material for its high-quality reproduction, attractive aesthetics, and practicality. Best of all, no frame is needed—everything for mounting is included, resulting in an elegant, minimalist solution.
